We Feel Fine is the brain child of Jonathan Harris and Sep Kawvar. Harris describes the project as “a combination of computer science, anthropology, visual art and storytelling”. The web-based application harvests blog posts for the terms “I feel” and “I Am Feeling” and then collects, stores and analyzes the entire sentence that the terms are found within. Next it churns out a smattering of mostly visual-based metrics based on its findings. You can drill down by Age, Gender, Weather, Location and Date categories (and/or any combination of the above) essentially giving you a snapshot of how the earth’s general population are feeling about things in general at any given time, in any location and across different demographics. This may read as a statistic nerd’s wet dream but let me assure you that the experience is just as visually stunning as it is interesting on a informational level.
